Raised Holographic Business Cards

Important Artwork Notice!
For better results, please ensure the holographic foil coverage is less than 50%. Otherwise, the holographic foil will be wavy and won't look good. The only time a 50% to 70% coverage is acceptable is with patterns, thin strokes, or small shapes.
The raised foil file must be a vector art created in a vector-based program such as illustrator. Otherwise, you won't have sharp edges on the artwork if you use a raster image for the holographic foil mask file. We do not recommend having fonts smaller than 10 pt on the Raised Holographic Foil Artwork.
However, if you use fonts with thicker strokes or bold fonts, we do not recommend having fonts smaller than 12pt.

A Card People See, Feel, and Keep
Rainbow foil you can both see and feel takes this card to its flashiest finish, raised off the surface of a soft-touch 16pt velvet laminated stock. The foil shifts color as it moves under light, and it stands up off the surface so a fingertip catches it. Sets of 100 start at $86.78 and are rated 4.7 out of 5 across 11 reviews. That is the kind of card that gets handled, turned over, and kept instead of filed away.
These cards punch above a plain card in every way that matters when you hand one over. The raised holographic foil does half the marketing for you, and once you order in volume the cost per card drops close to the price of an ordinary card. The price rewards a bigger run. A set of 100 starts at $86.78, and the per-card cost keeps sliding as the count climbs to 1,000, so a full box for a launch or an event costs far less per card than a quick test batch. What are raised holographic business cards?
Raised holographic business cards are premium cards printed at 4OVER4 with a rainbow holographic foil raised above the card surface, so the design shifts color under light and has real texture. They print full color on a 16pt Velvet Laminated Cover at 2" x 3.5", with the foil on the front or both sides, starting at $86.78 per 100.
A raised holographic card does two things a flat card cannot. It shifts color as it moves under light, the way a hologram does, and the foil stands up off the surface so you feel it with a fingertip. That combination reads as expensive the moment someone picks it up. The base is a 16pt Velvet Laminated Cover, a soft-touch stock that makes the shine of the foil pop harder against the matte around it.
Your artwork prints in full color first, then the raised holographic foil goes on top wherever your design calls for it: a logo, a name, a border, or the whole card. If you want the holographic look without the raised texture, the Holographic Business Cards print the same rainbow foil flat to the card.
How much do raised holographic business cards cost?
Raised holographic business cards start at $86.78 for 100 at 4OVER4. The price scales across four quantity tiers up to 1,000, and the per-card cost falls from about $0.87 at 100 to roughly $0.36 at 1,000. The specialty foil and velvet stock set the base price, and the live configurator shows the exact total before you order.
The entry price is $86.78 for your first 100 cards, about $0.87 each. Step up and the math improves quickly: 250 cards run $119.73, 500 run $185.63, and 1,000 come to $361.37, or about $0.36 a card. That is a specialty foil card for close to the price of a plain one once you order in volume.
The raised holographic process and the velvet laminated stock are what set the starting price above a standard card, but the finish is the whole point. Most first orders land at 250 or 500 for an event or a rebrand. Drag the slider below to set your count and watch both the set total and the true per-card cost update live.
What stock and size do these cards print on?
4OVER4 prints raised holographic business cards on one stock, a 16pt Velvet Laminated Cover, at the standard business card size of 2" x 3.5". The velvet lamination gives a soft matte base that makes the raised holographic foil stand out. Ink prints full color, 4/0 on the front only or 4/4 on both sides.
This product is built around one carefully matched stock rather than a long list, because the raised holographic foil needs a surface that shows it off. The 16pt Velvet Laminated Cover is that surface: a sturdy 16pt weight with a velvety soft-touch laminate that reads matte and quiet, so the rainbow foil on top looks brighter by contrast.
The size is the classic 2" x 3.5" card that fits any wallet or cardholder. Your full color artwork prints beneath the foil, either on the front with a blank back (4/0) or across both sides (4/4). The specs below are laid out exactly the way the live configurator presents them.
You do not need a designer to lay one of these out. Start from a free, professionally built layout in our business card design templates, then swap the colors, copy, and logo in the online editor. Keep the foil area to a bold, simple shape and it reads best.

Where can the raised holographic foil go?
On 4OVER4 raised holographic business cards you choose where the foil goes: on the front of the card only, or on both the front and the back. The holographic foil is raised above the surface in both cases. You set this in the configurator alongside your ink coverage, so you can foil one side and print full color on the other, or foil and print both.
The foil placement is yours to set. Choose foil on the front for a card that leads with the effect where people look first, and keep the back clean for contact details in full color. Or choose foil on both sides when you want the card to shine no matter which way it lands on a table.
Pair the placement with your ink: 4/0 puts full color on the front with a blank back, while 4/4 prints full color on both sides so your foil sits over artwork on each face. There is one foil here, a raised holographic foil, and it is the reason this card exists. For a different raised finish, the Dual Raised Business Cards combine two raised effects on one card.
How do you proof and print your cards?
4OVER4 prints raised holographic business cards on a standard 7 business day production time. Before printing you can send your file straight to production or request a free online proof to check the layout first. Accepted files are print-ready PDF, JPG, or PNG, and the configurator confirms your choices before checkout.
Once your artwork is set, you pick how it goes to press. Straight To Production sends your file to print right away when you are confident it is correct. Or choose the Free Online Proof and 4OVER4 sends back a digital proof of your layout so you can confirm the placement of the foil and text before anything prints, at no extra cost.
Standard production for these cards is 7 business days. Upload a print-ready PDF, JPG, or PNG, and every order is backed by 4OVER4's Gold Standard guarantees, so a card that arrives wrong gets made right.
What do people use raised holographic business cards for?
Raised holographic business cards suit brands that want to stand out on touch and shine: beauty and nail artists, tattoo studios, event and nightlife businesses, photographers, jewelers, and creative freelancers. The raised rainbow foil makes the card memorable, so it gets kept and shown rather than filed away. They also work as VIP cards, loyalty cards, and premium referral cards.
Reach for a raised holographic card when the impression matters as much as the information. A nail or lash artist hands one over and it matches the work. A tattoo studio, a DJ, or a nightlife brand gets a card that looks like the vibe it is selling. Photographers and jewelers use the foil to signal that they deal in things that catch the eye.
Because the card is unusual and pleasant to hold, people keep it on a desk or show a friend, which is free advertising a plain card never earns. It also makes a strong VIP card, loyalty card, or referral card for anyone you want to feel like an insider. For a flat metallic shine instead, the Fat Foil Business Cards lay a thick foil across the card.
How Do These Cards Compare to the Rest of the Range?
Raised holographic is the loudest way to finish a card, but it is not the only premium option in the range. If you are weighing a flat holographic foil, a thicker foil, or a double raised effect, it helps to see the starting prices side by side. The chart below lines up raised holographic business cards against their closest siblings so you can compare before you choose.
