Kraft Menus

Important Artwork Notice!

If you have CMYK images on your kraft product, when printing only 4-color, (ie: 4/0, or 4/4), colors will appear different to when printed on a white paper. CMYK images cannot be printed "true to color" on kraft cardstock without using a 5th Color White as a backer to your CMYK images(s). If you are color critical, please make sure to select Optional White Ink (ie: 5/0, or 5/5 if your job has double sided printing).

In addition, if you do not use a 5th Color White, elements in your design that are white will be blank (hence show the brown paper). The paper stock will affect the way that colors appear due to the slightly translucent quality of the ink (you will see the brown paper through the ink, especially in lighter shades). Colors in the orange, yellow, brown spectrum will tend to not be visible as the brown color of the paper will not contrast enough with the ink. This occurs with light and pastel colors as well. Review the information at the link provided before ordering this product.

Menus That Look Like You Made Them by Hand

A guest picks this menu up and actually notices it, because it is not the bright white card everyone expects. Kraft menus print on a warm, recycled brown sheet, and a set of 100 starts at $166.04, about $1.66 a menu, rated 4.8 out of 5 across 5 reviews. It is a brown, uncoated, 18pt cover that feels handmade the second it lands in a hand, the kind of menu that suits a farm-to-table kitchen, a coffee bar, a brewery taproom, or a pop-up dinner.

These menus do quiet work for a room. The recycled stock reads honest and unfussy, the natural texture does half the branding for you, and the price stays friendly even on a big reprint. What Are Kraft Menus?

Kraft menus are printed menus on 18pt Kraft Uncoated Cover made from 100% post-consumer waste, giving a brown, recycled, uncoated surface. They print full color on the front or both sides in 4 sizes, from an 8" x 10" up to an 11" x 17" tabloid. Restaurants reach for them when a bright white menu would feel too corporate: farm-to-table lists, seasonal specials, cocktail and coffee menus, and pop-up dinners. Because the sheet is brown and textured, the menu reads handmade and gets handled with a little more care. If you want the familiar bright white version of the same product, the Standard Menus cover that, and the kraft sits right beside it as the version with a natural, recycled feel.

What Size Should a Kraft Menu Be?

The right size comes down to how much is on the menu. The 8" x 10" default suits a focused list, a cocktail card or a prix fixe menu. An 8.5" x 11", the familiar letter size, gives a full food menu room for sections. A 9" x 12" adds a little more space around the type so a longer list still breathes, and the 11" x 17" tabloid is the statement piece, big enough for a full food and drink menu on a single sheet. All 4 sizes, the ink setups and the custom-size option are grouped below exactly the way the live configurator presents them, so you know what you can change before you change it. For a durable, wipe-clean menu instead, the Restaurant Menus and Laminated Menus are the siblings built for heavy handling.

Here are a few easy ways to make a kraft menu pull its weight.

Add white ink so light colors read

Because the stock is brown, pale type and true whites can soak into the sheet. Choose the CMYK plus white ink setup and those light colors print solid and clean instead of fading. It is the single change that makes a kraft menu look intentional rather than muddy, and it keeps a logo or a headline crisp on the darker surface.

Match the size to the meal

A short cocktail or coffee list feels right at 8" x 10", while a full dinner menu wants the room of an 8.5" x 11" or 9" x 12". Save the 11" x 17" tabloid for the menu you want guests to notice from across the table. Print the back too when the list runs long, or keep it blank to hold the cost down.

Design it without a designer

You do not need a design background to make a kraft menu look sharp. Start from a professionally built layout in our menu design templates, then change the colors, copy and logo in the online editor in minutes. The warm stock and a clean layout do most of the work.

Already have your layout? Skip the editor and download a press-ready blank instead. The blank kraft menu template is built at the real trim size with the 1/8" bleed and safe margin already drawn in, so your design never crowds the cut. How Much Do Kraft Menus Cost?

Kraft menus start at $166.04 per 100, about $1.66 a menu, and the per-menu price keeps dropping as the quantity climbs toward 1,000, where each menu works out to $0.83. So a cheap kraft menu really comes down to how big a run you order. So how many do you actually need? Is the Kraft Stock Really Recycled?

Yes. Every kraft menu prints on a single stock, 18pt Kraft Uncoated Cover made from 100% post-consumer waste, so the brown color and the uncoated, slightly toothy feel are the real thing rather than a printed effect. There is no gloss or coating on it, which is exactly why it reads handmade. For an eco-minded kitchen, that means you can put your values on the table without saying a word, and the CMYK plus white ink option keeps light colors sharp on the darker sheet. If you later need a wipeable, water-resistant surface for heavy use, the Laminated Menus carry the same menu into a sealed finish.

How Do Kraft Menus Compare to the Rest of the Range?

Kraft menus are the pick when you want a natural, recycled look, but they are not your only move. If you are weighing a bright white sheet, a wipe-clean laminate or a restaurant-ready build, it helps to see the trade-off in plain numbers.
