Design Tips for Holographic Cards
- Put the foil on a logo or on type rather than flooding the whole face. A shape with edges is what catches the light and moves.
- Keep the artwork around it dark. The shift is contrast, so it shows against deep color and vanishes against white. Thin type and very light tints lose it once the card tilts.
- Supply the foil mask as its own layer, drawn in 100 percent black, in the same file dimensions as your artwork so it registers exactly.
