Question

What does 'hold on order' status mean?

Answer

An on hold status means something must happen before your order can print. A common reason is a pending hard copy proof: when you chose to receive a hard copy proof before production begins, so the job pauses until you sign off.

  • We print your hard copy proof and send it to you for review.
  • Your order sits on hold while it waits for your decision.
  • Once you review and approve the proof, return it to us.
  • After approval, the order moves out of hold and into production.

An order also goes on hold when a file cannot be used as submitted, for example a file too low in resolution, or for a payment or address check. You are told what needs fixing. Once you upload corrected files, the order goes back into the technical review queue, first come, first served. If you are unsure why your order is on hold, contact support.
