What is the difference between 'straight to production' and 'online proof' when placing an order?
When you check out you choose how your job flows to press. The two options differ by whether there is a review checkpoint before printing.
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Straight to production | Your order goes directly to print after file review, with no separate proof approval step. |
| Online proof | A digital proof is generated for you to review, you get a link to view and approve before production starts. |
- Pick online proof when you want to verify layout and content before printing.
- Pick straight to production when you are confident in your files and want the fastest path to press.
- With an online proof you can approve the job or reject it with feedback for revisions.
The calculator preselects Straight To Production on most products, so pick the Free Online Proof at checkout if you want to see a proof first. A hard copy proof is also available: $75 on most products, $150 for multi-page books or die-cut to shape.
