How should I open and handle foam core products when they arrive?

Foam core boards are secured inside the shipping box with tape applied to the inside edges so they do not shift in transit. Take a little care when unpacking, because pulling the board straight out can peel the surface where the tape grips it.

• Open the box gently rather than yanking the board free.
• Use a blade to slice or lift the tape away from the board instead of tearing it off.
• Remove tape from the board surface rather than pulling the board out from under the tape.
• Lift the board flat and support it from underneath to avoid bending or denting the corners.
