How do I authorize an order to print after receiving a proof?
Approving the proof and authorizing the order are two separate steps. After you review and approve, you still need to open the order and give it the final authorization to print, which is what actually releases it to production.
- Step 1: review the posted proof for layout, color, and text.
- Step 2: approve the proof if everything looks correct.
- Step 3: go into your order and authorize it to print, which sends it to the pressroom.
Until that authorization is submitted, the job stays on hold, so nothing prints by accident while you are still reviewing.
In your account, open the order with the blue Proof button (or from the Online Proofs Available email), click Accept, then Approve or Authorize and enter your card's CVV code when asked. The card is pre-authorized at checkout and charged when you authorize. To request changes, click Reject Proofs and add comments, or upload a new file. You can also call support to authorize the order by phone. If the order is not approved within a few days of the proof, you get a reminder.
