Question

What should I do if I encounter a payment error on the website?

Answer

When you see a payment error but money left your account, documentation is what lets support investigate fastest.

  • Contact 4OVER4 support immediately with your order number.
  • Include a screenshot or a bank statement showing the transaction.
  • Provide as much documentation as possible to speed up the investigation.
  • Do not retry before support confirms the status: an on-screen error does not always mean the payment failed, and the charge may have gone through with the order already sent to print, so placing it again can create a duplicate. A confirmation email signals the payment succeeded.

If the payment simply will not go through, these fixes usually clear it:

  • Refresh the page, confirm your saved card and CVV are entered, fill every required billing field, try a different browser, or turn off ad and script blockers that can interfere with the checkout script.
  • Add a new payment method to your account or switch to another card, and double-check billing details.
  • Call customer service or the estimates department (support is available starting 10am EST) with your order number and card ready. An agent can enter or update your card securely and process the payment over the phone, even charging a card already saved to your account, which bypasses a stubborn checkout form entirely. Never send card details by email.

Once the payment clears, your order is approved and released into production.

  • "Invalid payment information": a card field (number, expiry, CVV or ZIP) does not match the bank record. Re-enter the card fresh instead of relying on autofill.
  • "The record cannot be found": a saved card or profile did not load on the order. Re-enter the card or add it again.
  • CVV: enter every digit; most cards use a 3-digit code on the back, American Express a 4-digit code on the front.
  • Billing address: the billing address and ZIP must match the card statement exactly.
