Question
I designed my files, but I'm not sure if I did it right. How can I find out?
Answer
The surest way to know your file is right is to check it against the basics before you order, then confirm it on the proof after you order. Nothing prints until you approve that proof.
- Confirm the document is the correct final size with bleed included.
- Set color to CMYK, since that is how the job will be printed.
- Keep all critical text and logos inside the safety margin, away from the trim edge.
- Make sure photos are 300 dpi at final size so they print sharp.
- Review the online proof carefully and only approve it once everything looks correct.
If something on the proof looks off, you can reject it and note exactly what needs to change.
