Raised Foil Greeting Cards

Important Artwork Notice!

For better results, please make sure that foil coverage is less than 50%. Otherwise, the foil will be wavy and won't look good. The only time a 50% to 70% coverage is acceptable is with patterns, thin strokes or small shapes. The raised foil file must be a vector art created in a vector based program such as illustrator. Otherwise you won't have sharp edges on the artwork if you use a raster image for the raised foil mask file. We do not recommend having fonts smaller than 10 pt on the Raised Foil Artwork. However if you use fonts with thicker strokes or bold fonts, we do not recommend having fonts smaller than 12pt.

Raised Foil Greeting Cards: Key Facts
  • From $618.16 per 100 cards, with the per-card price sliding from $6.18 down to $1.84 as the run climbs to 500.
  • 3 raised foil colors on the front: raised gold, raised silver, and raised holographic, each pressed above the surface with a texture you can feel.
  • One premium stock: 16 point soft-touch velvet-laminated cardstock, a matte suede-smooth base that makes the metallic foil pop.
  • One folded size: a 10" x 7" sheet scored to a classic 5" x 7" card, printed full color on the front with a blank back or full color on both sides.
  • 7 business day standard turnaround with a 4 business day rush, rated 4.9 out of 5 across 62 reviews.

Send a Card That Shines Before Anyone Opens It

The finish is what does the work here: full color printed on 16 point soft-touch velvet-laminated cardstock, then a raised metallic foil accent pressed onto the front. These are the cards a company sends for the holidays, a couple picks for a wedding, and a brand tucks into a premium order. A set of 100 starts at $618.16 and is rated 4.9 out of 5 across 62 reviews. Want to see how they sit next to the rest of the range? Browse every option on greeting cards printing, or build yours from the choices below.

The contrast is the whole story. The velvet lamination is a thin matte film that reads soft and suede-smooth, and the raised foil sits above it, catching light and giving your logo or lettering real dimension you can feel with a thumb. The heavy 16 point stock gives the folded card body, so it stands on its own on a mantel or a desk. If you want a different premium feel, the Raised Foil Suede Greeting Cards pair the same foil with a suede base, while the Velvet Greeting Cards keep the soft-touch stock without the metallic accent.

The price rewards a bigger run. A set of 100 starts at $618.16, and the per-card cost keeps dropping as the count climbs, so a full mailing list costs far less per card than a small test batch. Tap any tier below to see the live set total and exactly how much each step up saves before you commit.

What Are Raised Foil Greeting Cards?

Raised foil greeting cards are folded cards printed full color on 16 point soft-touch velvet-laminated cardstock, finished with a raised metallic foil accent pressed onto the front. The foil comes in raised gold, silver, or holographic, and the card prints 4/0 with a blank back or 4/4 on both sides. People reach for them when an ordinary card would feel too plain: corporate holiday cards, wedding invitations, save-the-dates, announcements, and premium thank-you notes. Because the foil sits raised above a matte velvet surface, the card gets handled, run over with a thumb, and kept instead of tossed.

What Foil Color Should You Pick?

The foil is where these cards earn their name, and you choose from three. Raised gold reads warm and classic, the default for holiday greetings and weddings. Raised silver runs cool and modern, a clean metallic that suits a sharp logo or a minimalist design. Raised holographic shifts through a rainbow as the card moves, the eye-catching option for a brand that wants to stand out on a shelf. Whichever you pick, the foil goes on the front and sits raised above the velvet, so it shines and has real texture. The stock, foil, ink, and turnaround options are grouped below the way the live configurator presents them, so you know what you can change before you change it.

Two easy ways to make a raised foil card do more work, whether you design it from scratch or drop in art you already have.

Start from a ready-made layout

Start from one of hundreds of professionally built layouts in our greeting card design templates, then change the colors, copy, and photos in the online editor in minutes. Keep the layout clean and let the raised foil do the heavy lifting.

Bring your own artwork

Already have your design? Skip the editor and download a press-ready blank instead. The blank raised foil greeting card template is built at the real folded trim size with the bleed, safe margin, and score line already drawn in, so your design never crowds the cut or the fold. How Much Do Raised Foil Greeting Cards Cost?

Raised foil greeting cards start at $618.16 per set of 100, and the per-card price keeps dropping as the quantity climbs to 500, so a cheaper card really comes down to how big a run you send. A 250-card run is $723.61, which drops the cost to $2.89 a card, and a 500-card run is $921.31, or $1.84 a card. So how many do you actually need? Drag the slider below to set your count and watch both the set total and the true per-card cost update live, and find the point where one more step up barely moves the budget.

Front Only, or Both Sides?

Raised foil greeting cards print two ways. Pick 4/0 for full color on the front with a blank inside, which keeps the cost down and leaves room for a handwritten message. Pick 4/4 for full color on both sides, so a printed greeting, a photo, or a full design runs inside as well as out. Either way the raised foil goes on the front, every card ships on the same 16 point velvet-laminated stock with the fold scored in, and you can request a free online proof before the run so nothing surprises you on press.

How Do Raised Foil Cards Compare to the Rest of the Range?

Raised foil is the metallic pick, but it is not your only raised finish. If you are weighing a suede base, a holographic shimmer, or a raised gloss instead of foil, it helps to see the trade-off in plain numbers. The Raised Spot UV Greeting Cards swap the metallic for a raised glossy accent over a matte card, and the chart below lines up raised foil greeting cards against their closest siblings so you can compare the starting price on each before you choose.

How Fast Can You Get Raised Foil Greeting Cards?

Raised foil greeting cards print on a standard 7 business day turnaround, which suits most holiday and event timelines when you plan a couple of weeks out. Because the foil is pressed and raised, it needs that finishing time, so there is no same-day option here. When the calendar tightens, a 4 business day rush buys back time for a set amount on top of the base price, so you only pay for speed when the date demands it. Either way you are not gambling on the ship date: 4OVER4 lands 99.8% of orders on time and sends 82% of them early, and a free online proof is available before the run starts.

See the Rest of Our Greeting Cards

Raised foil is one stop in a much larger lineup, and you can scan the full greeting cards printing range or the entire print product range any time. If a suede base, a holographic shimmer, or a lighter everyday card would serve you better, the rest of the family is one tap away. Each option shows its own starting price and links straight to its product page, so finding the right fit takes seconds.
