Give a Christmas Gift Someone Can Unwrap
Handed over in December, redeemed well into January, a Christmas gift certificate is prepaid value your customers can give now and spend later. Because it stands in for real money, it should feel festive and premium the moment it lands in a hand: full color, heavy stock, clean type. Sell them at the register, run a seasonal promotion, or tuck them into gift sets, with sets of 50 from $42.84 and a 4.7 out of 5 rating across 25 reviews turning the season into sales that carry into the new year.
A customer who forgot a gift buys one at your register on December 23, and the person who receives it becomes a new customer in January. To compare Christmas certificates with the rest of the family, browse every style on gift certificates printing, or stay here and build yours from the choices below.
Fifty certificates for $42.84 covers a small shop's first holiday season. If you sold out last year, the tiers below show the total at each step toward 5,000, where each certificate costs under 8 cents.
What is a Christmas gift certificate
You sell a Christmas gift certificate as a printed, prepaid voucher, the buyer gives it as a present, and the holder redeems it later for your goods or services. At 4OVER4.COM Christmas gift certificates print full color on one or both sides in 2 sizes, on any of 15 materials, with size, ink, numbering, and turnaround all set in the live configurator.
A customer buys one in December and puts it under the tree, and whoever opens it comes to your shop in January with the gift value to spend. You set the ink coverage, 4/0 for a printed front with a blank back, 4/1 to add black type on the back, or 4/4 for full color on both sides, pick your material, and choose one of the 2 sizes. The general-purpose Gift Certificates carry the same build for the rest of the year, and the Restaurant Gift Certificates suit a holiday dinner voucher.
What sizes do Christmas gift certificates come in
You get 2 sizes, the default 3" x 7" and a larger 3.5" x 8.5", or a custom size up to 4" x 9", made to order. Each prints full color with room for a certificate number, a gift value and your terms.
Lay out the 3" x 7" with your logo and a holiday design at the top, the amount in the middle, and the expiration line and signature block at the bottom. Choose the 3.5" x 8.5" when a festive photo or longer fine print needs the room. The specs below list both sizes as the live configurator does, and both drop straight into the matching White #9 envelopes when you add them.
What materials and ink can you choose
This certificate offers 15 materials of its own: 14pt and 16pt gloss cover, uncoated and recycled stocks, white linen, metallic pearl in ice, champagne, silver and gold, and a durable 15pt synthetic plastic. Print 4/0 for a full color front with a blank back, 4/1 to add black on the back, or 4/4 for full color on both sides.
The certificate stands in for a wrapped gift, so choose a stock that feels like one. The default 14pt Gloss Cover is crisp and affordable, and 16pt gloss is heavier. White linen in 14pt or 18pt has a soft texture under the thumb, and the uncoated stocks, including the 30% and 100% recycled ones, take a pen when staff write in the amount.
Metallic pearl in ice, champagne, silver or gold shines under tree lights without the cost of foil, and the 15pt synthetic plastic survives a coat pocket and a spilled drink. Print the terms in black on the back with 4/1, or put a second holiday design there with 4/4.
How much do Christmas gift certificates cost
Christmas gift certificates start at $42.84 per 50 units, about 86 cents each, and the per-unit price keeps dropping as the quantity climbs toward 5,000, so the price of each certificate depends on the size of your run. A run of 300 is $95.56, 600 is $153.78, and 5,000 lands at $385.53, under 8 cents each. Look at how many you sold last December, drag the slider below to that count, and read the total and the per-certificate cost side by side.

Christmas Gift Certificates: Frequently Asked Questions
Can each Christmas gift certificate be numbered?
Yes. Turn on sequential numbering and a different number prints in black ink on every certificate, in the spot you choose and starting from the number you set. Through December you log each one as sold, then mark it redeemed as holders spend them well into January, so you always know which are still out. If you do not track them, set numbering to none.
What is the minimum order and what does it cost?
The minimum is 50 certificates at $42.84, about 86 cents each. Pricing steps down through 15 tiers, reaching $385.53 for 5,000, which works out to under 8 cents each. A December run usually costs less per piece than a small test batch.
What size are the certificates?
The default is 3 inches by 7 inches, and there is a larger 3.5 inch by 8.5 inch option. If you need something else, a custom size up to 4 inches by 9 inches is made to order. Both stock sizes fit a standard #9 envelope.
Is there a material that survives being carried around in a wallet until January?
Yes. Alongside the paper stocks there is a 15pt synthetic plastic, which does not soften or tear the way card stock does when a certificate sits in a wallet for weeks. If you prefer paper, 16pt gloss cover is the sturdier of the coated options.
Can I get envelopes so they can be given as a gift?
Matching blank White #9 envelopes can be added to the same order. They arrive blank, so you can hand write a name on the front or drop the certificate in as it is sold at the counter.
How long before Christmas do I need to order?
Standard production is 5 business days, with 2 day, Next Day and Same Day rush available if you are ordering late in the season. Add your shipping time on top, and remember there is a proof step before printing that you should approve promptly.
