What’s the difference between a sticker and a label?

Stickers and labels are close cousins, and the terms are often used interchangeably. Both are printed on adhesive stock and applied by peeling and pressing, but there is a practical difference in how they are typically used and constructed.

• Stickers: usually decorative or promotional, often die-cut into fun shapes, and applied to all kinds of surfaces like laptops, water bottles and packaging. They tend to be durable vinyl for handling and outdoor life.
• Labels: usually functional and informational, carrying product names, ingredients, barcodes or branding, and commonly supplied on sheets or rolls for efficient application.

Whichever word you use, what changes the finished result most is the stock, finish, shape, and adhesive you pick.
