Question
What is Rewind 2?
Answer
Rewind 2 is one of the 8 standard winding positions used for roll labels. The rewind number tells the press and your applicator exactly how each label is oriented as it comes off the roll. In positions 1 through 4 the printed face is wound facing out, and Rewind 2 specifically has the bottom edge of the label leading off the roll.
| Position | Wind | Leading edge |
|---|---|---|
| Rewind 1 | Wound out | Top edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 2 (this position) | Wound out | Bottom edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 3 | Wound out | Left edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 4 | Wound out | Right edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 5 | Wound in | Top edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 6 | Wound in | Bottom edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 7 | Wound in | Left edge leads off the roll |
| Rewind 8 | Wound in | Right edge leads off the roll |
Match the rewind position to your applicator. If you apply by hand, the direction is far less critical.
