What custom printing techniques are available?

Custom printing techniques add texture, shine, and movement that flat CMYK ink cannot reproduce on its own. They are usually applied as a finishing step after the base artwork is printed, and several can be combined for a layered effect.

• Metallic foil - a thin metallic film pressed onto the sheet in gold, silver, rose gold, or holographic finishes.
• Spot UV - a clear coating cured under UV light to create raised, glossy accents against a matte background.
• Tip-on - a smaller printed piece bonded onto a larger card or mailer for a tactile, dimensional element.
• Lenticular - a ridged lens layered over interlaced images so the artwork appears to move or shift as the angle changes.
• Embossing and debossing - raised or recessed impressions pressed into the stock for a purely tactile effect.

Heavier, coated stocks hold these finishes best, so choose your paper with the technique in mind.
