Question
How do I prevent air bubbles when applying Window Clings?
Answer
Air bubbles are easy to avoid with a little prep and a slow, deliberate application. The trick is to give yourself room to reposition and to push air out as you go rather than trapping it in the middle.
- Mist the glass lightly with water before you start, which lets you slide the cling into place before it sets.
- Line up one edge first, then lower the rest of the cling onto the glass gradually.
- Use a squeegee or the flat edge of a card to smooth from that first edge outward, pushing air toward the open side.
- Work any small remaining bubbles out with firm, even pressure toward the nearest edge.
