The Vistaprint Alternative Professionals Switch To

Custom trading cards come in the 2.5 by 3.5 inch size on 18 stocks, from 13pt uncoated to 24pt Ultra Thick gloss, with linen and metallic pearl among them. Step up to silk laminated trading cards and the 16pt laminate adds body so a card does not bend in a deck, with a low-glare face that resists fingerprints.

Gloss cover stocks and the optional high gloss UV coating push color for artwork, while uncoated stocks take a pen for stats written by hand. Rounded corners, in a 1/8 or 3/8 inch radius, keep the corners of a shuffled deck from fraying.

Trading cards start at 25 for $11.25, and the price per card falls as the run grows, so a prototype deck and a launch print are priced on the same page. Browse every format at trading cards printing.

Gift certificates print at 3 by 7 or 3.5 by 8.5 inches on 15 stocks from 13pt to 18pt, linen and metallic pearl among them. If a name or an amount is written by hand, an uncoated stock takes the ink, while gloss can smear under a pen.

Black ink sequential numbering lets you track which certificates are out and which are redeemed, and matching white #9 envelopes can ship with the order. Check the options and the live price on the gift certificates product page.

Bookmarks print on 20 stocks from 13pt to 26pt, soft touch, linen and metallic pearl among them, so a custom bookmark handed out at an event can match the card that goes with it. Browse the full bookmark printing range, or watch the Silk Bookmarks video for a laminated finish.

Why businesses are switching from Vistaprint

Vistaprint built its name on volume: low prices on standard cards and constant promotions. The trade-off shows on stock, where its card menu centers on glossy and matte. A business card on 32pt or heavier stock reads differently in a client's hand, and free samples let you compare the two before you move an order.

Where each one wins

4OVER4.COM wins on paper range, finishes and support. Vistaprint wins on name recognition and its promotional pricing. Suede, Silk Laminated and Ultra Thick cards are lines Vistaprint does not list, and that gap shows the moment a card lands in someone's hand.

How pricing compares to Vistaprint

A sale price on a standard 14pt card and a fair price on a heavier stock are different purchases. Standard business cards here start at 100 for $17.57, on 73 stocks. To compare honestly, configure the same job on both sites, same size, weight, finish and quantity, and read the total at the bottom.

Reorders tell the rest of the story: 99% of 4OVER4.COM customers say they will reorder.

Print quality Vistaprint cannot match

Quality is the weight of the card, whether the colors match your brand guide, and a finish that survives a pocket. Velvet Laminated and Suede cards add a soft face, and Diamond Glitter is a printable glitter that does not crack or shed.

To match a brand color, send the CMYK values with the file, and the free proof shows the result before the run. Rush jobs go through same day printing.

Who 4OVER4.COM is the right Vistaprint alternative for

Not everyone needs to switch. For 50 cards for a garage sale, Vistaprint is fine. Realtors, consultants, attorneys and salon owners who hand a card to a prospect get more from a heavier or laminated stock, and marketing teams running 5,000-piece direct mail campaigns need the color to hold across the run, from a printer that is CASS certified for direct mail.
